The Christmas Tree

15 January 2016

Cover of The christmas tree book by Barbara Segall

It’s always a magical moment when the time arrives to decorate the Christmas tree. For generations it has been at the heart of our traditional festivities, conjuring up half-forgotten childhood memories of twinkling lights, multi-coloured baubles and the eager anticipation of the events it heralds. The Christmas Tree creates this magic, and through a series of beautiful photographs and illustrations relates the ancient and modern story of this ever-popular tree. With chapters on trimming and lighting, present giving, famous trees, where to find and how to grow your own tree, it tells you everything you want to know. Exquisitely produced, The Christmas Tree makes the perfect Christmas present.

The Christmas Tree is available direct from me, Barbara Segall, at a special discounted price of £7.

This wonderful book is both attractive and enlightening and would make an excellent gift!

Please email me to order.

I had houseguests over the Christmas holidays and had ‘The Christmas Tree’ on the guest bedroom night stand. When the lovely lady who was visiting me for Christmas came down for breakfast, she remarked that she had really enjoyed reading this book before turning in on Christmas Eve. The photographs are so lovely and the book is very well written and presented. I have today ordered several other books by this author. Truly a Christmas gem. Christmas is a special time and this is a special author.

About Me

I edit magazines and write about gardens, plants and gardeners. My own garden and those open to the public, here and abroad – and gardeners – professionals and passionate amateurs, alike, all feature in my writing. Growing my own fruit, vegetables and herbs in a small, productive and ornamental town garden gives me great pleasure, as does using the produce and writing about it. Read more
